The Royal Kingdom of Auron is a parliamentary democracy. Parliament is made up of The Crown, the elected National Council, and the Royal Council made up of appointed members of the NC. Auron’s structure as a unitary state places government responsibilities solely with the Parliament. Other forms of government (municipal) have little to no power, and what they do have can be vetoed and ascertained by the state.

Auron is also a constitutional monarchy, with The Crown acting as a symbolic and functional executive, as well as a member of both the National and Royal Councils. The Crown consists of Royal Councillor Ian Kniel, who is acting head of state. The Crown formally approves parliamentary legislation through royal assent, and holds other privileges under royal prerogative.

The Parliament’s legislative branch, known as the National Council, consists of a unicameral council of 100 members elected by the public. Each councillor of the National Council is elected by proportional representation using the party-list method. General elections must be called by the Royal Councillor within five years of the previous election, or may be triggered by the government's losing a confidence vote in the NC. Five parties had representatives elected to the National Council in the 2005 elections: the Social Democratic Party, the Liberal Party, the Green Party, the Conservative Party, and the Communist Party.

The political executive and head of government is the Royal Council, which can be compared to a cabinet in most other parliaments. The Royal Council is one of the most powerful institutions in government, initiating most legislation for parliamentary approval and directly advising the Royal Councillor when executive decisions must be made. The RC is made up of the following departments with the following councillors at their head:

Department of Citizenship: Councillor of Citizenship, Audrey Tarah
Department of Defence: Councillor of Defence, Andrew Harding
Department of Education: Councillor of Education, Ericka Brynne
Department of Environment: Councillor of Environment, Stacy Peace
Department of Finance: Councillor of Finance, Devon August
Department of Foreign Affairs: Councillor of Foreign Affairs, Jessica Palmer
Department of Health: Councillor of Health, Kayleigh Dawn
Department of Justice: Councillor of Justice, Åsmund Murray
Department of Social Development: Councillor of Social Development, Shad Andersen
Department of Transportation: Councillor of Transportation, Trevor Gregors

Members of the Royal Council are specialized councillors in the NC. They are are nominated by their cohorts in the National Council based on their qualifications for running the various departments, then chosen and formally appointed by the Royal Councillor.
