La-Mulanian War Empty La-Mulanian War

Post  Aurland Thu Aug 20, 2009 10:57 pm

August 19th, 2009

Terra Firma lies at the brink of, if it is not already fully submersed in, total war. The recent breakdown in international relations can be traced back to the actions of the Holy Empire of La-Mulana. The nation bagun what has been called a "genocidal campaign" to ensure the purity of the La-Mulanan race within its borders. The campaign has been revieled to involve using "undesirables" in forced labour camps around the country, with the highest concentration in La-Mulana's massive Nuclear Power Sector and Uranium Mines. Investigations attempting to reveal what other methods the Holy Empire may be using are under way.

Upon discovery of these events, the Republic of Dunagee was quick to send aid in the form of peacekeeping troops, and evacuation vehicles, condemning the actions of the Holy Autarch. The Armed Republic of Prykonia acted alongside Dunagee, deploying troops alongside their aid personel. Believing the Peacekeeping efforts to conceal an invasion, La-Mulana mobilized their armed forces as peacekeeping and aid personnel were quickly met with the soldiers bearing the La-Mulana Triad.

"The enemy may destroy our bodies, but they cannot break of sprites!" The Holy Autarch yelled as he prepared to enter his private heavy tank, the Batomys. "Even now, they come to seize by force what they cannot claim by right! We will smite the invaders from our skies and our seas! We will fight as one heart, one soul, and one being."

Dunagee and and Prykonia are appauled at the actions of the Autarch. Socialist Dictator, Sebastian Montoya of Prykonia stated,

"La-Mulana's government is not only insane, but her intel is corrupt. Her soldiers will now pay for attempting to destroy a peacekeeping attempt." Terashum, Lorisia Macleod of Dunagee issued a public statement in which she said,

"We must ban together under the flag of hope to beat back these evil dictators and their fiendish onslaughts." Refering also to Pharaoh Samantha Rush of Tsavorite, who has sided with La-Mulana and formed the "Tsavoritian-La-Mulanian Axis".

The Royal Kingdom of Auron has officially declared its neutrality in the conflict. It is currently sending multiple medic battalions to heal the wounded on both sides and promote peaceful means of ending the conflicts, which have so far only invlolved small scrimmages. At this point the only nations not to have made their stance clear are Etheura, Buritia, and the currently indisposed, Climalia.

War has become a very real reality in La-Mulana after neither of the parties decided to back down from their positions that the other is in the wrong. Dunageen and prykonian troops, who had moved into the capital city of La-Mulana, were driven back by the nations armoured division consisting of various tanks, APCs, and other artillery vehicles.

After the incident, Both La-Mulanan and Tsavoritian authorities announced their plans to begin heavy development in weapons of mass destruction such as nuclear, biological, and satellite weaponry. Calls to abandon the plans from both oppposition and neutral nations only strengthened the two country's resolve.

Recently there has been in a lull in the combat as Tershum Lorisia MacLeod and Holy Autarch Alexander I have entered a state of open dialogue. The nature of this conversation has been all but peaceful however. TFN is currently following the story to bring you further updates.

La-Mulanian War Empty Re: La-Mulanian War

Post  Prykonia Fri Aug 21, 2009 12:22 pm

PCN Breaking News:

The Prykonia Navy is mobilising. While the government under the rule of Sebastian Montoya, our brave Socialist Dictator, remained quiet, at approximately 08:00 hours today a massive amount of heavily armed ships and hundreds of thousands of Prykonia 1st Regiment troops on board head for the shores of La-Mulana. These ships have been armored with anti-submarine weapon and armor, as well as massive Anti-Aircraft guns. Several La-Mulanian defense convoys were easily dispersed and eliminated, and thousands of La-Mulanian soldiers died or were taken prisoner. The Prykonian death toll has levelled off since the failed peacekeeping attempt, in which two thousand soldiers and personnel were viciously slain. The Navy is now a mere 80 kilometers away from the La-Mulanian coastline.

The Anti-Aircraft guns are already set up, the sea defences are nearly completed, and the Old Guard is protecting the capital, as other regiments guard the rest of Prykonia and her territory. The Air Skirmishers, the infamous fast airplane corps of Prykonia, is flying all over the nation.

In other related news, several known La-Mulanian spies and Tsavoritian spies in the country have mysteriously disappeared. At least seventy persons were found missing.

At this point, it is unknown if any more troops will be dispatched, but the 2nd Prykonian Navy has been sent to provide a safe exit route should things go wrong. For more information, tune in at the six o'clock news.

This has been a PCN Special Report, I am Edgar Dominguez, thank you for watching.

*Roleplay Rule #2*
No RPing another member's actions! You can't just say an enemy assasinated your general and you now plan to prosecute them in the international court unless they actually assasinted your general. Allow others to respond to your actions.

Prykonia, in the future please try to avoid posts where you decide the outcome. Set up the scenario, but then allow La-Mulana to respond. Dice rolls (bellow the preview/send buttons) by each nation involved will determine who gets to decide the outcome. The high roll will then be subtracted from the defeated nation's military value. Speaking of which here are all the current military values of the involved nations which will be capped from growth untill the end of the war:

Dunagee- 74
Prykonia- 40

La-Mulana- 58
Tsavorite- 75

Besides the number one rule of ALL roleplaying is almost always no godmodding. It's just annoying. D= Cause tehn what stopping me from going "Tsavorite unleashed some super awesome weapon and wiped both countries off the map."

I think this system could work. =D Woo, Ian!

PCN Live Broadcast

Live from the Palace of Bravery (Prykonia's leader's home):

The Defence Ministry now has authenticated the order to convert Prykonia into a "war economy." By this document, it is stated that hundreds of subsidized companies will be converted into production facilities to further supply soldiers at the war front.

--LA-MULANIAN FRONT CREATED--

The massive navy has docked at a position in the island far away from the capital of La-Mulana. A base has been established there with full connection to the Prykonian Defence Ministry. This location now houses hundreds of thousands of men, and they are in the process of rebuilding the anti-aircraft guns that were dismantled to be shipped there. Several stealth bombers (made of carbon-fibre and undetectable by radar) patrol the airspace above. Several more on the ground await orders to act. Within an hour, the area will be well defended, providing a safe opening for troops to enter the nation. La-Mulana has yet to react to the Prykonian 1st Regiment's arrival.

Furthermore, large convoys have been sent to destroy offshore oil reserves that the nation may have, as well as secure the waterways.

"We must stop the barbarism of this country at all costs!!" said a jubilant Sebastian Montoya from the podium overlooking Douglas Square. Thousands cheered the young leader, as he urged them to join the army and become part of the movement.

For more coverage on the war front, tune in later tonight. From the Vulture Media Building, this is Curtis Franklin.

Meh. Numbers are just that.. Numbers. Smile Even if I were a 3 instead of a 40 I'd use it to my advantage and fight so well it'd be as if I was a 90. Smile

Psh you only think it doesn't work because your numbers are lower.

The numbers are based on things that would come into play in a war, right? So if I've developed my country more to be a more militarized country, why shouldn't I have more of an advantage? D= Don't start fights if you don't think you can win. =P

ooc: Well I think the system is pretty fair. I should remind everyone that the values are based on military strength and population. Countries like Tsavorite and Dunagee who have been around longer and have higher populations, will have a larger military. That contributes to the value just as much as militarization.

ic: Lieutenant Leon Dawson waited for the signal to connect with the Medic corps headquarters back in Auron. The screen of his laptop buzzed to life with the general's face dead center in a dimly lit room.
"Lieutenant, what's the situation in the capital?"
"Quiet, sir. After the Prykonian and Dunageen troops were driven back to the coasts, there hasn't been much action. Even from the Autarch. It's nice that we've had a chance to help so many of the injured here, but it's unsettling."
The general was quiet, but it was hard to tell if he was seriously contemplating the intel, or just completely baffled.
"We've had similar reports coming in from the 1st and 4th battalions stationed coast-side." He finally replied, "They say that Prykonia is setting up a naval base off the coast, and that Dunagee has been sending thousands of nurses to the frontline." The general returned to his silent state.

After a long awkward silence, Lieutenant Dawson thought perhaps he was supposed to say something.
"Orders, sir?" The general snapped back and realized where he was.
"Stay posted. Tell the rest of the 2nd to keep conservative with the supplies, things won't be this easy for much longer."
"Sir!" As the computer shut down, no more confidant then he was before, Lieutenant Dawson wondered how long he could survive a nuclear fallout with disinfectant spray, gauze, and a concealed handgun.

OOC: Hey, i didn't give anybody anything. Those numbers were a direct result of the formula on the website. The only thing that can be argued over is the strength variable. We discussed this earlier at the civil headquarters. Military strength is based on technological development, and policy developed through the daily issues. Nobody seemed upset about it then D:

Dressed in the Black and White Military grab of his country, the 51 year old, blond causian General Berthold Gregor examined intel from the Scouts on Prykonia current invasion, pushing his glasses up on his face.

The sound of the train tracks, the heavily armored railroad bound beats, the Equus, lay just out of firing range. Armed with machine guns, Anti-Air Weaponry, and a massive mortar cannon, the armored train was built for defense, and it's tanks high above the ground, was a formable reminder to 'heretics' of the sheer might of the Holy Empire.

"Sir...We're In position!" Colonel von Bismark told his superior.

General gregor nodded.

"Attention, it has begun! You are the shield that defends the EMpire! Berthold gregors Commands you...CRUSH THE INVADERS!"

Within seconds of receiving their orders the foothold Prykonia's forces received from La-MUlana was shelled, the howling of the shells punctuated of the exclamations of fiery explosions.

In the confusion to follower, the La-Mulanian Airforce deployed it's massive armored Airships. The massive zepplins gruaded by a fierce squadron of fighters.

Betrhold Gregor msiled from the comfort of his armored railcar. He had been handpicked by the AUtarch himself for this operation. They had both preferred Shock and Awe Tactics."Wretched vermin...we'll show these secular Heretics what happens to those who would dare to challenge His Grace.

"Carpet Bomb the entire area, then send in the Ground Forces to clean up what's left of the Prykonia Forces. if you can, capture their leaders alive. We'll make examples out of them.A Warning to the Lesser Nations of terra Firma."

The troops of Tsavorite fight proudly amongst the troops of La-Mulana, offering many of Tsavorite's technology's and aid where needed. ((-coughcough-I dunno what else to say here. XD The troops are just kinda mindless puppets following Alex. HAHA ))

Meanwhile back on Tsavorite The scientists have completed their bioweapon, a disease that had the potential to quickly kill off people with a weak immune system and weaken those with healthier immune systems. A few Tsavorite spys try to sneak the disease into the enemy military camps, in hopes of slowing down the enemy troops.

Watching the small child with a broken leg he had helped treat meander off into the distance of the damaged buildings in the capital, Lieutenant Leon Dawson of the 2nd Aurish medic battalion was able to spark that small feeling of peace with the world he so rarely did. He looked around making sure his men were nearby as he moved to the tent where their communications were set up.

He was startled by an alert on the laptop. It was the general.

"Sir!"

"Lieutenant, bad news. Get the crew together, head down to the coasts where the 1st and 4th battalions are stationed. The 3rd'll meet you enroute. Get everyone you can safe, and wait for the air transport. You're all getting out of there… now!"

"Sir, I don't understand."

"Things are getting ugly, Lieutenant. WMD's, nukes, bioweapons, we'll just let the damn crazies off each other one at a time. Besides, there's trouble on the home front."

The communication ended and Dawson rushed to the barely armed transport vehicle, calling the men as he went, with the necessary equipment from the tent. Quick head count… good! The clearly marked vehicle sped off, and Dawson felt he wasn't in a great position to lead the withdrawal seeing as he shared the some face of absolute confusion as every other person in the rearview mirror.

La-Mulanian War Empty Dunagee calls a press conference

Post  Dunagee Sat Aug 22, 2009 11:31 am

As the main hall of the Civil Building fills to the brink with reports, the clamoring noise raises to such a level the chandeliers swing by force of noise alone. At the front of the room the silver stage is brilliantly lit by spotlights. As Terashum Lorisia MacLeod steps into the light the crowd hushes and all eyes turn upon her, she glides up to the microphone and pauses glancing over the thousands of camera bulbs that blink at her. "Dunagee today we will make our first move against the advancements of evil and I could see no other way to make it our move than allow you all to be here with me today as it happens" her voice pierces the silence of the room. Slowly behind her a large screen lowers down " I took it upon myself to research and build this weapon, now we have created twins that will bring down both our enemies" a picture lights up the screen behind her, a bomb like shape looking similar to the atomic ones used in WWII. "Now we will show the world what happens then you cross Dunagee's morals. Execute launch."

The image on the screen changes to split screen to show two planes dropping the bombs. The camera follows the bombs as the fall toward the countries and just at the edge of the range of their anti bomb defenses the bombs burst open to reveal... bats. Out of each bomb falls million and five bats that tumble towards the cities and drift off in search of a dark place to hide. All eyes return to the Terashum as the clutches the microphone laughing so hard tears fall from her eyes. " I guess this would be our version of I bite my thumb at you sir, I will speak with you again in 6 hours" Signing out. She leaves the stage

Post  Prykonia Sat Aug 22, 2009 12:37 pm

Staring into the sky at the incoming La-Mulanian air forces, the Prykonian 1st Regiment stands steeled waiting for a command.

"Anti-Aircraft Guns, prepare to do your worst!" said the General Dominguez.

Almost immediately, the guns fired not bullets, but high-frequency lasers, creating a perimeter in which no plane could enter without being destroyed.

The Regiment began issuing tactics.

"The La-Mulanian lunatics now come for us. LET US GIVE THEM, NOT SURRENDER, BUT DEATH! Let them carry the bodies of their dead back to their crazed leader! Today, Prykonia will show the world what our smaller numbers can do!!" said the General, to crazed cheers and roars from his troops.

The L206 LAARK (Light Anti-Armor rocket) was issued to a Special Ops team that was part of the 1st Prykonian Regiment.

"Lads, you are going to need this."

"Get your gear on men, and eat well, because it's going to be a long day."

Meanwhile, from the Great Bulwark:

The press, especially Vulture Media vans surround the building, anxious for a glimpse of the leader. He instead catches a helicopter ride out of the building and returns to his Palace. Immediately after the Defence Minister exits the building and says,

"Build more defenses. More guns, more everything. We have received more funding from the government."

"Together, we can do this."

Post  Prykonia Sat Aug 22, 2009 12:46 pm

Immediately after, Prykonian troops began to feel a little queasy after rescuing a little boy from the rubble after La-Mulana's shelling. It appears as though the boy was a Tsavoritian spy, and had in his possession several vials containing biohazardous substances. Luckily, the vials were confiscated and the boy was taken prisoner, and now has prompted a new type of fear within the Prykonia Regiment.

"Send for gas masks, we are going to need them." said the General. "here, take these pills. They will help you against a biological attack. Tsavoritian cowards." He hands a bottle of pills to his troops. These pills alter the effects of the biological weapon only so that the weapon gives a person hunger and a deep desire for a good milkshake. Surprisingly, it worked. Within ten minutes the troops were not at all weakened, but very hungry.

"So much for trying to poison us."

La-Mulanian War Empty Re: La-Mulanian War

Post  Aurland Sat Aug 22, 2009 11:27 pm

Lieutenant Leon Dawson was now in command of both the 2nd and 3rd Aurish medic battalions, en route to the Prykonian coastal base to join with the 1st and 4th. Something must have been wrong considering the general's last message. That's when he saw the La-Mulanan ground forces off in the distance.

They were frightening to the naïve medic who had grown up in a small fishing town outside Alderburn and had to be taught to use a gun before being shipped out to La-Mulana. They seemed like they were on display, carrying their nation's survival on their soulders (whether or not it was true). Lt. Dawson feared the troops and their massive artillery weapons would fire on them, but then remembered their transports were clearly marked as the medic corps.

He then realized that the ground forces were marching in the same direction as his battalions, towards the Prykonian base at the coast. He rushed now, knowing the other medics at the base were in danger, pushing the vehicle to its limits. A roaring overhead told him that aircraft were currently engaged in battle, he saw a few shots disappear into the sky. It was impossible to tell who had the upper hand.

That's when the base came into view in the distance. Clearly there was damage from bombing, how effective it had been though was undeterminable. Orders were being shouted throughout the Prykonian forces, they had a strange look on their faces and ran like their stomachs were in pain. It was strange.

Amidst the chaos Lt. Dawson heard someone calling in a familiar tongue, different from those he had become accustomed to in the foreign land. A quick scan and he saw the other battalions gathered around an air transport, jumping and waving to et the Lt.'s attention. They did. Relieved to be running away from the chaos of battle, Lt. Dawson gave one last look over his shoulders.

"Lieutenant! Shall we board the transport?"

"Yes, get everyone on. We're heading home."

The troops which had been still and silent became lively once again, filing one-by-one onto the air-transport. Lt. Dawson counted heads as they went, but came up short. This had never happened before.

"We're two short! Who's missing!?!"

"Sir, Privates Dominic and Tue. They we're lost when La-Mulana initiated their attack. We haven't seen them since."

Private Tue, the name instantly hit a nerve. A young Leon Dawson had grown up with a Rickie Tue in his hometown. They had never been close, but they knew each other well enough that Leon questioned for a moment whether or not he should jump off the transport and give up his chance of escape for chance to save an old friend.

That moment; however, was interrupted by the sound of the air transport's rotors beginning to spin and the small spot on the ground he had been starring at while contemplating his decision fading into the distance.

Roleplay Rule #1. No Godmodding! That means no creating miraculaous situations that would be otherwise seen as impossible without a proper dice roll to back it up. In terms of weapons development, it means no spontaniously having thousands of armed nukes. Complicated weapon systems need sufficient time to be developed.

Tsavorite is right. A cure for a virus takes quite a while to be developed, and that's after it has been fully exposed to a wide portion of the population. A RL example of this is H1N1. A treatment has only just been developed, and nobody even knows if it'll be effective.

Sorry Prykonia, changes need to be made to your posting style. It simply isn't acceptable.

Hahah it seems even this forum wants us to lose. Fair enough. There were some cases of deaths and sicknesses, but i passed legislation on the daily updates thing a week ago stating that everyone had received shots for like.. everything. And this isn't real life my friend, cures can exist for more things now because it's merely a fictional world. If I unleashed a virus on Tsavorite tomorrow, I'd expect her to find some way to thwart it, whether fictional or not, bonus if it is unique and comical, and honestly I would be okay with it. Viruses are very cowardly ways to kill people in a war. And cures like the one I mentioned in the post are at least fun. Very Happy

That is all I have to say. I will change the format of my roleplay as "requested", and this new notice will be released:

--NOTICE--

Prykonia's borders (including army base, footholds, etc. are now carefully fortified, protected, and restricted only to people known to be allies of Prykonia itself. Effective immediately. Suspicious substances brought on flights to and from any airports will now pass directly into scientists' hands for research and clearing of any danger to the public or personnel on scene. Furthermore, gas masks and other protective equipment have been issued to the following battalions and troops:

-All Prykonian Regiments
-Prykonia Navy Personnel
-Prykonia Defence Corps
-The Old Guard

Completion of distribution will be in five hours. Personnel overseas must report to the heavily fortified and patrolled barracks nearest to them for screening and detection of virus symptoms.

After the battle was done, a quick head count was performed by all generals at their camps.

"This is surprising. We hardly lost any troops at all today." said the main commander.

"There are around 657 troops either missing in action or confirmed dead from our army. Unknown how many La-Mulana lost however." stated one of the "bookkeepers" brought on request of the Defence Ministry.

".. and then, sir, there is the matter that we have found two lighly armed personnel, possibly Aurish, but really difficult to tell. Their uniforms were very dirty. One didn't make it to camp. The other is in critical condition. It seems either friendly or enemy gunfire brought him down."

"Very well. Keep him in good health, provide food and water, just as for the other prisoners."

As the camp slowly fell asleep, the General Dominguez looked at his most trusted colonel.

"Today was just warm-up. This is only getting started."
